It seems that my new October tradition is to go to a play with my dad. Last year we saw, "Paint Your Wagon", Saturday we took my brother with us to see, "My Fair Lady", one of my favorites! It rained all day, just like last year (I am pretty sure this is a good omen, since 2008 has been the greatest!) There was the token chronic cougher, the handful of people that came, just as the "Get in your seat" bell was dinging, and the rush of people stepping on toes, and grunting their way through the darkness after the first scene had ended, but I loved it. The costumes were so amazing that in a couple of the scenes, when the curtain raised, the audience audibly gasped. I definitely think that there is no better way to spend the first Saturday afternoon of October.
The rest of the weekend was pretty festive too, the hunt for Halloween costumes continues. I think next year we should see what is available instead of choosing the group costume in July. Do you even have any idea how hard it is to find a Cat in the Hat, hat in this town!
Some of the Logan family came down in between General Conference sessions for food and airport runs, and we made Carmel apples...to which I have found a new respect for the craftsmanship of the hundreds of perfectly coiffed apples at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory!
